Miami City Ballet Announces 2026/27 Season, New Executive Director, and Headquarters Renovation

Miami City Ballet is launching a new chapter that combines artistic planning for its 2026/27 season, leadership changes at the executive level, and a renovation of its Miami Beach headquarters while continuing to expand school and community initiatives.

Single tickets are now on sale for Miami City Ballet’s 2026/27 season, which will feature large-scale productions including "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "Swan Lake" alongside world premieres.
Subscriptions for the 2026/27 season are also available, offering audiences a way to attend multiple performances across the company’s mix of classical repertory and new works led by Artistic Director Gonzalo Garcia. Early bird pricing has been announced with a limited window for discounted packages.

Program: Mixed repertory including Balanchine works, Jerome Robbins’ N.Y. Export: Opus Jazz, and a world premiere by Patricia Delgado with music by Emily Estefan.

The Nutcracker
December 11–27, 2026 (Miami)
Program: George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

Spring Mix

Program: Mixed repertory including Balanchine works, Justin Peck’s Rodeo, and a world premiere by Tiler Peck.

Swan Lake

Program: Alexei Ratmansky’s Swan Lake
Description: A full-length classical production closing the season with a traditional romantic ballet featuring large-scale corps de ballet scenes.
Updates
The company has appointed Scott Altman as Executive Director. Altman, a veteran arts administrator with more than two decades of leadership experience, most recently served as President and CEO of the Los Angeles Master Chorale and previously held leadership roles with Cincinnati Ballet. Working alongside Artistic Director Gonzalo Garcia, he will help guide Miami City Ballet through its next phase of artistic development and organizational growth.
Renovations are underway at Miami City Ballet’s Miami Beach headquarters as the organization updates its home base for the company and school. During the project, Miami City Ballet is partnering with art storage provider UOVO, which is housing and preserving the company’s costume collection, including pieces from historic productions and newly created works.
Miami City Ballet School is in session for its Summer Intensive and other seasonal programs that bring students from around the world to Miami Beach for training. The company has also completed the first season of Next Stage, a reimagined free performance series curated by Gonzalo Garcia that presents original works by emerging choreographers from within the organization and includes post-performance discussions with audiences.
