Miami Chef Offers Free Cooking Class to Celebrate Summer

Chef Tristen Epps offers virtual class series. Debuting just in time to celebrate World Gin Day on June 12, the class series is designed to explore the flavors, textures and colors expressed when experimenting with berries in both drink and food pairings.

Marcus created a cocktail for the class, aptly dubbed the Bramble 75, which will be available for consumers to purchase as part of a kit on CocktailCourier.com where they will then be directed to purchase ingredients to make the food pairings.

People all over the country will be able to follow along Marcus during the kick-off class on Friday, June 11 from 6-7pm as he guides them to elevate their food-cocktail pairing game inspired by the berries of the season and the new gin.

The series will continue with notable chefs featured in Marcus’ recent work The Rise: Black Cooks and the Soul of American Food who will walk people through how to make a veritable summer feast that pairs with the Bramble 75 in 3 subsequent classes over two weeks, featuring:

  • Tuesday, June 15 from 5-6pm EST: Chef Adrienne Cheatham of NYC (SundayBest) creating an appetizer

  • Thursday, June 17 from 5-6pm PST: Chef Joseph Johnson of LA (Charcoal Venice, LA) creating a main dish

  • Tuesday, June 22 from 5-6pm EST: Chef Tristan Epps of Miami (Red Rooster Overtown) creating a dessert

Registration for all four classes will be available on cocktailcourier.com on June 1st.
