The Adrienne Arsht Center has unveiled a new permanent mural by Miami-based mixed media artist TYPOE. The large-scale work, titled Paper Stage (Allegory of Life), now adorns the exterior wall of the Carnival Tower, facing Biscayne Boulevard.

The 20-by-30-foot mural was officially unveiled during a public event at the Thomson Plaza for the Arts. Commissioned by the Arsht Center, the site-specific piece reflects TYPOE’s signature style and draws inspiration from 19th-century paper stage models, blending abstract figures, nature, and theatrical elements.

“This project is a meaningful opportunity to bring my vision to life in a space that reflects Miami’s cultural energy,” said TYPOE.

The mural is part of a year-long collaboration between TYPOE and the Arsht Center. In addition to the mural, TYPOE also designed the 2025 Arsht Awards and the center’s upcoming holiday card.

“TYPOE’s work is a powerful visual statement and a public invitation to experience the creativity that defines Miami,” said Johann Zietsman, president and CEO of the Arsht Center.

The new mural replaces Eduardo Kobra’s Ballerina, which was displayed on the same wall from 2018 to 2025. The Arsht Center continues its tradition of integrating public art across its campus, highlighting both international and local artists.
