Saatchi Yates Heads to Miami with Solo Exhibition by Ethiopian Artist, Tesfaye Urgessa


Saatchi Yates is delighted to present a powerful solo show of new paintings by contemporary Ethiopian artist Tesfaye Urgessa, opening on 22 November at the gallery’s temporary space in the heart of Miami’s Design District. Ethiopian iconography is at the core of Urgessa’s artistic production having emigrated to Germany from Addis Ababa. Recognised for his unique intertwined subject matter that recalls representations of race and the politics of identity, Urgessa’s new body of work will see him dive deeper into this subject with 15 new large-scale paintings marking some of his largest works to date. The show will coincide with the artists’ presentation at the Rubell Museum, Miami opening on November 28 2022.


MONAD Studio at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach


The prestigious MONAD Studio, cofounded by local artists Eric Goldemberg and Veronica Zalcberg, will design and 3D print unique sonic sculptures to be displayed in the glamorous lobby at the iconic Morris Lapidus-designed Ritz-Carlton, South Beach during Miami Art Week 2022 for all to admire. With the help of the knowledgeable South Florida-based luthier Scott F. Hall, these sonic sculptures will be bright, grandiose, playable instruments that will be used during a private concert in partnership with the Miami Symphony Orchestra on the evening of Tuesday, November 29th. The instruments will include astounding renditions of a piano, a lap guitar and xenophone, a twin serpent, a zhu, a bichord, a slide guitar, and a segmented bass guitar.



The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach’s Art For Good “Concert of the Seven Decades”


As a continuation of their Art For Good program, which uses the universal language of art to address local, regional, and global causes, The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach will be hosting a concert in partnership with the Miami Symphony Orchestra celebrating the past seven decades of iconic Miami history, arts, and culture on Tuesday, November 29.


As an ode to The Magic City and its prominent global presence, conductor Eduardo Marturet will specially curate a soundtrack of songs central to Miami’s identity for the orchestra to perform in front of an influential crowd of local, regional, and national notables, tastemakers, politicians, art collectors, and artists alike. As part of the musical performance, Eric Goldemberg and Veronica Zalcberg of MONAD Studio and Scott F. Hall, Luthier will be designing and constructing 3D printed, artistic instruments – sonic sculptures - that will be played by orchestra members during the concert

A limited number of tickets have been opened to the public to attend this exclusive event, on a first come first served basis.

Éliou pop-up at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach


Éliou, the handcrafted contemporary jewelry line, will be doing an exclusive pop-up at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach throughout the week of Miami Art Week. The pop-up will feature classics from the Miami-based brand as well as exclusive capsule pieces to commemorate the partnership with The Standard Spa, Miami Beach.

SUMA at Gitano


SUMA is an invitation to discover a new set of values between art, design, people and nature. SUMA Gallery based in Tulum curates with intention taking into account the social and environmental impact of each piece. For Art Week 2022 SUMA has partnered with Gitano and will be featuring work from prominent Mexican artists including Christian Abusaid, Pedro Friedeberg, Eliana Portilla and Rafael Uriegas throughout the Gitano spaces.

Pamm Ann’s Clipper Club Miami at Hotel Greystone

Nicoläs Villamizar at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach


Colombian artist Nicoläs Villamizar will showcase his work at The Standard Spa, Miami Beach during Miami Art Week. Villamizar will be doing a live mural at the hotel’s patio on Thursday, December 1st and guests are encouraged to stop by and check out the artist work. Inspired from organic shapes, intimacy, and the human body, with a mix of color and elusive framing to form an interesting diary of life.


Jumbo NYC x The Standard Spa, Miami Beach


The Standard Spa, Miami Beach is excited to announce their partnership with Jumbo NYC, a Brooklyn based design practice set out to produce objects and environments that are guided by an ongoing interest in reductivism and whimsy. The partnership will feature custom, realistic-looking pasta floats showcased at the pool at The Standard, Miami Beach. Set out to create an illusion of pasta cooking in water the floats will be available throughout the week of Miami Art Week and will be available for purchase in-store.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday at the pool, for hotel guests and members.

Sarabande Foundation x The Standard Spa, Miami Beach


Lee Alexander McQueen’s Sarabande Foundation will be celebrating Art Week at the private paradise of The Standard Spa, Miami Beach. On Monday, November 28, leaders from the global creative community will come together for a fundraising dinner to support and raise awareness for the foundation. This dinner will be a sequel to the foundation’s internationally acclaimed Jamborees Reindeer, The Craftsman’s Dinner and Dream with Sarabande, London and New York. This is the third event created in partnership with The Standard and the UK-based charity’s second in the U.S.

Hall, Luthier will be designing and constructing 3D printed, artistic instruments – sonic sculptures - that will be played by orchestra members during the concert. The evening will begin with a VIP cocktail reception serving crisp sparkling wine from Fabio Lamborghini’s luxury, lifestyle brand FL Fuoriserie during which the Miami City Ballet will perform an immersive routine amongst the guests.

All art displayed on the property during Art Week - including the inimitable sonic sculptures that will be played at the concert - will be available for auction beginning November 17th through BidAid, an international all-inclusive, silent-auction platform. Proceeds from all purchases will be donated to the Miami City Ballet, the Miami Symphony Orchestra, Young Musicians Unite, and Circle X Green Trillion Club.

Giorgio Armani, the highly established fashion house, is excited to launch Giorgio Armani LOVE, a new project combining fashion, art, and technology on Tuesday, November 29 from 7PM-10PM at the Giorgio Armani Boutique in the Miami Design District. The Giorgio Armani LOVE project includes work by Italian artist Marcantonio, who explores the theme of LOVE through nature.
