Messi's Four-Unit Buy Pushed Cipriani Residences Miami Past 80% Sold

Cipriani Residences Miami has crossed the 80% sold threshold ahead of its Summer 2027 delivery, with Lionel Messi's purchase of four units last spring identified as the moment that concentrated global attention on the Brickell tower. The milestone, reported by the New York Post, reflects a buyer pool spanning more than 30 countries and stretching across the domestic coasts, drawn in part by the credibility Messi's early commitment lent the project.

What the Messi Wave Looks Like From the Latin Football Market

Karla Ruiz, a sports content specialist at Apuestas.Guru who follows the Spanish and Latin American football markets, has watched the buyer list take shape with particular interest. The countries clustering at the top of Cipriani's international sales chart — Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, and Spain among them — are communities, she notes, that do not leave their soccer culture at the border.

Those communities stay connected to home-country leagues and to Messi's own fixtures from wherever they land, including Brickell. Among the digital channels this audience relies on, Ruiz observes, Spanish online bookmakers are a consistent thread — platforms through which Spanish-speaking fans track match odds, follow squad news, and keep the rhythms of the season close even from a new city.

“The Argentine and Spanish-speaking buyers who followed Messi into this project carry the sport with them. These are fans who have the midweek fixtures open on one screen and their Miami view on another. That connection to the game doesn't stop at the Brickell waterfront.”

A wave of Argentine soccer players has reinforced exactly that pattern inside the building itself, making the development something closer to a community than a conventional luxury tower.

Messi's Purchase and What It Signaled

Messi committed to four residences at Cipriani Residences Miami last spring, at a point when the 85-story tower was still under construction. One of those units, a four-bedroom residence spanning approximately 3,500 square feet, carried a price of roughly $7.5 million.

The timing mattered. Buying into a project before it tops out requires a degree of conviction that few global names are willing to display publicly. Messi's decision supplied the development with exactly that signal, arriving early enough to move the market before the tower reached full height. The building is now positioned to become the tallest residential tower south of New York City, standing approximately 950 feet. Delivery has been pulled forward a full year from its original 2028 timeline, with buyers now set to move in during Summer 2027.

Executives and Players Join an International Buyer Pool

The buyer wave that followed Messi into the development spans two distinct worlds. Executives from Citadel and Amazon, relocating from New York and California, have purchased units, joining a roster of Argentine soccer players who followed Messi's lead. Domestic buyers from New York and California now lead overall sales at the tower.

Internationally, the project drew purchasers from more than 30 countries. The top markets abroad, in order, are Mexico, Italy, Colombia, Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, Canada, France, Spain, and the United Kingdom. That list maps neatly onto Messi's global audience and, more broadly, onto the soccer-devoted communities of Latin America and Southern Europe that regard Miami's Brickell district as an increasingly familiar destination.

The Tower's Specs, Amenities, and the Milestone in the Builders' Words

Cipriani Residences Miami is the Cipriani family's first ground-up residential project in North America, a 397-unit building that will offer more than 50,000 square feet of amenities on completion. Entry-level pricing starts at $1.8 million. The Canaletto Collection, the tower's premium tier, begins at $4.1 million. Arquitectonica designed the structure; 1508 London handled the interiors. Fortune Development Sales is managing sales and marketing.

The amenity program reflects the family's nearly century-old hospitality legacy, which began with Harry's Bar in Venice. A 37th-floor speakeasy overlooks Biscayne Bay. A resort-style pool deck, a holistic spa, a private screening room, and signature Cipriani dining round out the offering.

Giuseppe Cipriani, speaking to the project's topping-off milestone, framed the tower as a continuation of a long family tradition. "For nearly a century, our family, inspired by our Italian heritage and traditions, has welcomed people from around the world with the same philosophy: to create places where elegance, service and hospitality come naturally. I am excited to see this spirit continue through Cipriani Residences Miami."

Camilo Miguel Jr., founder and CEO of Mast Capital, placed the sales milestone inside a broader argument about Miami's trajectory. "This milestone represents far more than reaching the top of the tower. It reflects the continued evolution of Miami as one of the world's premier destinations for high-end real estate. As we celebrate reaching full height and surpassing 80 percent in sales, we continue to see extraordinary validation from buyers around the world who recognize the exceptional quality of what we have created alongside our partners."

For buyers, the most concrete measure of progress is the schedule itself. Scott Moss, CEO of Moss Construction, put it plainly. "Reaching the top of the structure is a significant achievement because it brings buyers one step closer to taking ownership of their homes. Constructing one of the tallest residential towers in the country requires extraordinary coordination, engineering expertise and craftsmanship… With occupancy beginning next summer, buyers can now see that vision becoming reality."

That occupancy date, Summer 2027, is now the fixed point on which the entire project's momentum converges.
