Masisi Radio will debut Move Your Body: Imagination Club Sinema Film Festival at The Bass in Miami Beach on Thursday, July 16, from 6 to 9 p.m., with complimentary admission available by RSVP.
The film festival launch is part of Move Your Body, a three-part summer residency by Miami-based Masisi Radio at The Bass. The residency focuses on movement as a form of memory, imagination, and liberation, and transforms the galleries into a setting for sound, cinema, and performance within the installation assume vivid astro focus: XI.
Rooted in the legacy of Black, queer, and trans communities that shaped disco, house, and global club culture, the program brings together artists, DJs, filmmakers, and performers in a floor-to-ceiling environment that blends sculpture, video, and design into a participatory space.
The Club Sinema segment features short films by emerging filmmakers from diaspora and queer communities, with talkbacks and intermissions that encourage discussion on how cinema can help imagine future conditions of Black life. Seating is limited and available on a first-come basis, with complimentary entry for guests who RSVP in advance.
