Mark Rothenberg, founder and chief executive officer of Ellemar Enterprises, has been recognized as a 2025 honoree in South Florida Business & Wealth’s Apogee Awards in the CEO Entrepreneur category. Rothenberg accepted the honor at the awards luncheon held Nov. 19 at The Venue in Fort Lauderdale.

The Apogee Awards celebrate distinguished C-suite leaders across Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties who demonstrate outstanding leadership, industry influence and community commitment.
Rothenberg, who founded Ellemar Enterprises in 1992, is recognized as one of South Florida’s premier ultra-luxury homebuilders. A South Florida native, he has built a career defined by uncompromising quality, transparency and a personalized approach to custom homebuilding. Under his leadership, Ellemar limits its workload to a select number of residences at a time to ensure each home receives meticulous attention and exceptional craftsmanship.
His passion for real estate and construction began in high school and continued at the University of Florida, where he renovated his first home. The experience, encouraged by his brother, real estate attorney Larry Rothenberg, shaped the foundation of his career. He later earned general contractor, real estate broker and mortgage broker licenses and renovated more than 50 homes before transitioning into custom new construction.
Among his signature achievements is the $26.9 million penthouse at Le Sanctuaire in Highland Beach, originally built by Ellemar in 1992 and reimagined in 2025 with his son, Brandon. The residence reflects Ellemar’s reputation for timeless design, modern innovation and enduring craftsmanship.
Rothenberg is also known for his commitment to the community. After the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, where his three children attended, he fulfilled a promise to build Princess Meadow Playground in honor of Meadow Pollack and the 17 lives lost. The project remains one of the most meaningful accomplishments of his life and exemplifies his dedication to creating spaces that uplift, support and bring people together.
Rothenberg’s recognition at the Apogee Awards underscores both his entrepreneurial leadership and the lasting impact of Ellemar Enterprises on South Florida’s most exclusive communities.
