Maiora Unveils Supernova 50 Steel & Aluminum Superyacht with ELIE SAAB and Tommaso Spadolini

Maiora has officially unveiled the Supernova 50, a 50-meter vessel that marks the Italian shipyard's entry into the steel and aluminum superyacht market. Following the brand's earlier 42 Exuma project, the yacht represents an expanded collaboration with lifestyle brand ELIE SAAB and designer Tommaso Spadolini, who co-authored the exterior profile, spatial arrangement, and proportions.
Elie Saab and Carlo Colombo Tommaso Spadolini
Constructed under Next Yacht Group at its Pisa and Viareggio facilities, the displacement vessel stays below 500 GT while adopting design elements inspired by high-end luxury hospitality. The layout incorporates a six-cabin configuration for up to 12 guests, including two main-deck guest suites featuring private 7-square-meter balconies. Interior spaces feature custom curation under the creative direction of Elie Saab and Carlo Colombo, incorporating pieces from the ELIE SAAB Maison collection paired with bespoke Italian craftsmanship. Delivery is scheduled for the second half of 2028.
OWNER’S DECK
The upper level serves as a dedicated private sanctuary for the yacht’s owner. Anchored by a spacious suite offering sweeping 180-degree ocean views, the master quarters connect directly to a secluded forward terrace. Together, the interior suite and exterior lounge comprise roughly 90 square meters of secluded living space—delivering a degree of intimacy typically found only on vastly larger vessels.
BEACH AREA
Positioned at the stern, the beach club transforms the traditional water-access platform into an active, oceanfront retreat. The expandable layout features a built-in swimming pool and side-opening hull doors that widen the deck while erasing the barrier between the vessel and the surrounding water. Storage for a substantial primary tender is seamlessly integrated into the structure without encroaching on guest lounge areas.
OUTDOOR
External gathering areas are distributed across the yacht's five decks, providing diverse zones suited for large social gatherings or quiet relaxation. From the owner's private forward deck and guest terrace balconies to the open-air stern lounge, the ocean view remains a central focus. Designed as a true ocean-crossing vessel, the Supernova 50 positions its wheelhouse on the Sun Deck adjacent to the captain’s quarters for an unobstructed view of the horizon. Featuring a 2.40-meter draft, transatlantic capabilities, and a maximum speed of 16 knots, the yacht is engineered for long-range cruising with exceptional autonomy and comfort.
