LVMH Continues Legacy With Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, Showcasing Artisanship and Innovation

Updated: Sep 9

Following the resounding success of the Olympic Games Paris 2024, LVMH continues its Premium Partnership with Paris 2024 for the Paralympic Games, from August 28 to September 8.

The Group is supporting the event with the same passion seen during the Olympic Games Paris 2024, celebrating the values of inclusion and diversity it champions, and how they inspire excellence.

The Opening Ceremony for the Olympic Games proved a historic milestone thanks to the bold creativity of Paris 2024, which reinvented the event, taking it beyond the traditional framework. The ceremony launching the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games followed suit with equally stunning audacity. Against the incomparable backdrop of the majestic Place de la Concorde and the iconic Avenue des Champs-Elysées in the heart of the City of Light, Artistic Director Thomas Jolly once again presented a dazzling celebration and show.

The ceremony kicked off with a festive parade down the Champs-Elysées by 180 plus delegations from nations across the globe. LVMH helped showcase this first ever Opening Ceremony for the Paralympic Games in Paris thanks to the exceptional engagement of its artisans and teams, who worked hand in hand alongside Paris 2024 with passion and creativity to once again make LVMH the Artisan of All Victories.

LVMH Maisons signed a number of high-profile contributions to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony

Berluti

Berluti dressed Team France athletes for the Opening Ceremony in custom-tailored ensembles that embody ‘élegance à la française’. The Maison created tuxedo-inspired outfits with a unique ‘French flag’ patina of blue and red hues.

For men, the outfits were paired with Berluti’s emblematic Shadow navy blue sneakers, revisited in France’s national colors, while women chose between the Shadow sneakers and the supple leather Lorenzo loafers. This historic collaboration marked a first for Berluti, which outfitted women for the first time as it superbly rose to the daunting challenge of ensuring that each member of Team France was a distinguished ambassador of French art de vivre on the global stage. The design of the clothes takes into account the specific needs of the athletes and the event.

All eyes were drawn to Team France as they joined 184 other delegations to parade against the exceptional backdrop of the Champs-Elysées to the Place de la Concorde.

Vuarnet

During the Opening Ceremony for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, the 150 dancers in the opening scene wore Vuarnet Legend 06 Greylynx sunglasses. Vuarnet was honored to be part of this memorable event celebrating Paralympic sports at the highest level. The glasses added a key visual element to this high-profile event evoking inclusiveness.

Louis Vuitton

Louis Vuitton has contributed to the Paris 2024 Games with bespoke versions of its iconic trunks designed to safeguard iconic symbols of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Medals Trunks safeguard and showcase the Olympic medals designed by Chaumet, while the Torch Trunks housed the Olympic Torch during its relay across France to Paris. The two trunks are covered respectively in Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram and Damier canvases, embodying more than 170 years of savoir-faire.

Louis Vuitton is also proud to have contributed to a spectacular tableau during the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony featuring singer and multi-disciplinary artist Lucky Love.

Discovered following the release of his breakout single “Masculinity” in April 2023, Lucky Love fuses musical genres, creating a unique sonic universe that explores themes such as love, nostalgia and introspection.

Lucky Love delivered a stirring performance, dressed in Louis Vuitton by Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams, continuing an exciting and inspiring journey. The artist was decked out in a white embroidered single-breasted jacket, white flared pants, a white tank top and black cowboy boots. The look was completed by multiple gold brooches with pearls, as well as gold necklaces and a pair of Pilot sunglasses.

Following the tremendous success of the Olympic Games Paris 2024 – and thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Paris 2024 Organizing Committee, the city of Paris, the French state, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the French Paralympic and Sports Committee (CPSF) – the Opening Ceremony was reinvented, transforming the City of Light into an ebullient playground to continue a unique festive celebration of sports in the heart of Paris.
