Love and Bikinis: The Original Crinkle®️

ree

At Love and Bikinis, we’ve built our reputation on The Original Crinkle®️ – the luxurious, body-flattering, four-way-stretch crinkle fabric that women have loved since we launched in 2019. Our federally registered trademark THE ORIGINAL CRINKLE®️ (U.S. Reg. No. 8034798) reflects one simple truth: we source our fabric directly from the inventor who created this iconic material in the early 1980s and first licensed it to iconic swimwear designer, Liza Bruce for her groundbreaking collections.

That inventor still personally supplies a very small, trusted circle of brands today – including Love and Bikinis. Because we work directly with the source, every piece we make carries the exact same quality, stretch, and heritage that made crinkle fabric famous four decades ago.

When we say “Original Crinkle®️,” we mean it literally – the authentic fabric, from the original creator, delivered with the inclusive sizing and confidence our customers know and love.

Clarifying a Common Misunderstanding Over the years, some retailers and media stories have mistakenly credited other brands or individuals with inventing crinkle fabric in the 1980s. The true originator has always been the same inventor who patented the process and first licensed the fabric to Liza Bruce. Many beautiful crinkle-style fabrics exist today, but only fabric that comes directly from that original source carries the genuine heritage and performance our customers expect when they see “The Original Crinkle®️” on a Love and Bikinis suit.

We protect this story not just for us, but for the inventor who has quietly supplied the industry for 40 years and prefers to keep supplier relationships private and exclusive.

Thank you for choosing the real thing.
