The Disney Dream offers South Florida the opportunity to experience the magic of Disney without having to travel to Orlando. It’s not easy to please all family members in a single vacation, but Disney Cruise Line (DCL) has stepped up to the challenge and delivered a magical experience that will charm even the pickiest traveler.

From the moment you step on board, there is no question Disney has thought of every little detail—in fact, they have made it possible to make each traveler feel special. Your servers will get to know your culinary preferences, and your stateroom host will magically appear to greet you every time you return to your room. It’s that impeccable service that allows travelers to disconnect and relax.
Regardless of how long you live on the Dream during your cruise, I guarantee you, you won’t want to leave. Afterall, who would want to leave Broadway-style shows at night, dance parties with Mickey and Minnie, and exquisite meals at enchanting restaurants. Having been to multiple Disney parks, the experience on the Dream is a much more intimate journey. On the Dream you are letting Disney takeover your needs—and boy, do they know how to make someone happy—it’s an immersive worry-free vacation stamped with the Disney seal of approval.
The Dream will take you to Disney’s newest Bahamian island destination in Eleuthera, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Get ready to lounge by the beach, catch Goofy and Pluto hosting fun games for the kids, and embrace the rich Bahamian culture. Per Disney standards, they have thought about everything. There is an adult-exclusive beach that parents can enjoy after dropping their little ones at Sebastian’s Cove—a kids club where they will do crafts and fun activities. There is also a sizable splash pad with toboggan slides maybe even mom and dad will enjoy.
Upon disembarking on Lookout Cay, travelers will notice the bright sapphire water surrounding them. There is a 15-minute causeway passengers will have to walk on to get to the island, but don’t worry there are wagons available so the little ones don’t get tired—there are also shuttles for the grandparents on board. Once on the other side, there will be trams ready to take you through this tropical oasis. Disney has gone through great lengths to turn Lookout Cay into the picture-perfect Disney destination by carefully cultivating tropical vegetation throughout. The tram drops you off at the main entrance—and be sure to grab your beach towels for the day! Keep in mind this sprawling footprint can accommodate the whole ship, so it’s worth walking a little down the beach to find empty lounges that will accommodate your entire family.
It’s no surprise Disney has added a new island destination, given that their expanding fleet will reach 13 ships by 2031—a significant expansion from their 4 ships in 2022, which have obviously been a great success.
Disney has already crafted success in the Bahamas on their own private island, Castaway Cay, a longtime favorite stop for DCL cruisers. Here, passengers disembark onto sandy white beaches, where they can snag a picture with their favorite Disney characters wearing their beach attire— Mickey wearing swim trunks and a cap is adorable—or can hop on a bike and grab their snorkel gear. However they choose to spend their time on Mickey’s island, the adventure awaits.
In addition to soft sandy beaches and warm Caribbean seas, both island destinations offer complimentary BBQ meals, adult-only spaces, and kids clubs—it’s heaven on earth.
Once back on board, the AquaDuck awaits. The best time to ride is on embarkation day or on port days—right before ship is about to set sail. This popular water coaster shoots you off the side of the ship in a translucent tube and offers amazing overhead views of the ship’s entire pool deck—it’s a thrilling experience you’ll want to do more than once.

On deck 11, right below the AquaDuck, are the two main pools and Nemo’s Reef, a splash pad for the littlest ones. Here is where most of the action happens: sailing away party, pirates’ night, fireworks, and where the Funnel Vision screen shows Disney classics all day long—grab a seat at Mickey’s Pool and cool off while watching Toy Story!
After a day in the sun, the activities continue. Whether you are dining early or later in the evening, be assured that Disney has designed the schedule on board so that guests never miss out on fan favorite activities. All the major entertainment shows play twice a night, and character meet and greets are sprinkled throughout the time on ship. And don’t worry, your servers and stateroom host will be on top of it, reminding you where to go next.
There are three Broadway-style shows that will mesmerize any audience. Make your way to the Walt Disney Theater, there is no bad seat in the house. Be sure to catch Beauty and the Beast, Disney’s Believe, and The Golden Mickeys—they are all executed to perfection.
The magic of Disney is not only on stage, but also throughout the ship, especially at dinnertime. DCL created a unique dining experience, where your server travels with you to each of the restaurants. This results in a personalized experience and an unexpected relationship that makes the Dream feel like home after long days in the sun.
Now, let’s rave about the food. Cabanas, gives buffets a new reputation. The food is exquisite, beautifully presented, and varied—there are 10 food stations with everything you could desire. For breakfast you will find eggs, bacon, sausage, Mickey waffles, smoothies, parfait, and much more! For lunch, delight yourself with grilled shrimp, fresh salads, or an authentic chicken tikka masala. Plus, Cabanas offers breathtaking views of the ocean—with indoor and outdoor seating.
There are three themed restaurants on board. The Royal Palace is inspired by the Disney’s Princesses, Enchanted Garden offers a dynamic lighting experience—watch the ceiling transform from daylight to nighttime as you progress your meal—and Animator’s Palate, has paintbrushes as columns, painters’ palettes on the ceiling, and digital screens on the walls that transport you to Nemo’s underwater world—watch Nemo’s friends swim by while you dine!
Finally, Disney has created three designated spaces on the Dream, exclusively for kids. These spaces not only allow parents to relax, but also gives kids that independence they are very much craving. Disney’s Oceaneer Club is designed for kids 3-10 years old. Here they can explore Andy’s Room, pilot the Millennium Falcon, and play games with the dedicated staff—trust me, they won’t want to leave. Edge is designed for kids 11-14, here they will find video games, table games, and a cool outdoor space especially for the tweens and teens on ship. Finally, Vibe is designed for teens 14-17 and offers a space for them to listen to music, lounge, play video games, and watch TV.

While your kids are getting lost in the magic of Disney at the Oceaneer Club, there is no better time to find your way to Palo, Disney’s adults-only fine Italian restaurant. Or try relaxing on the glass bottom jacuzzi, followed by a spa treatment—after all, this is your vacation too! You’ll be able to relax, knowing your kids are safe and having a blast.
To take advantage of all the Dream has to offer, make sure you download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Here you will be able to see everything that is happening while you are on board. It will help you keep track of your itinerary and plan your day. You can add character meets, port activities, and chat with the rest of your party.
A trip on Disney’s Dream has everything your heart, your children, and your in-laws could possibly desire, all beautifully packaged by the white gloved hands of Mickey himself (with the help of DCL). The Dream is more than a ship, it becomes a home away from home, and an unforgettable experience you don’t want to miss.
