LIVE@Frost Science: Playing The Quantum Drum

The quantum world is often known for only being detectable at the atomic scale, but scientists are eager to see quantum mechanics with their own eyes. Join us at on Wednesday, March 19 for LIVE@Frost Science: Playing the Quantum Drum to learn about how experimental physicist Dr. Cindy Regal is making this possible.

Dr. Regal, a physics professor at University of Colorado, Boulder, and JILA fellow, is creating tiny “drums” visible to the naked eye to explore the quantum world. With these drums, her team can manipulate the quantum state of light to measure forces with incredibly high precision. Their next target? Using two drums in concert to visualize quantum entanglement. While this may sound like something from a Marvel movie, it’s real life—and we’ll meet the scientist setting the beat for this exciting quantum movement.

Admission is complimentary. Tickets are limited to four per transaction. Program will take place inside the Frost Planetarium.
