Lincoln Road Announces 2026 Call for Public Art Proposals
Miami Beach’s Lincoln Road Business Improvement District (LRBID) has announced its 2026 Request for Proposals (RFP) for temporary public art installations. The initiative is part of the Art on Lincoln: Sculpture, Installations and More program, which invites professional artists and artist teams globally to submit qualifications and proposals for new or existing artworks to be displayed along the pedestrian promenade.
The selected project will receive a budget of up to $75,000 and will be showcased along the iconic outdoor corridor, which attracts over 10.8 million visitors annually. The winning artist and their installation will also receive promotional support through the district's marketing channels, including its website, social media platforms, public relations initiatives, and on-site signage.
This formal RFP builds on the success of the program's inaugural open call in 2025, which generated over 75 global submissions. The 2025 winning piece, La Herencia Viva by Miami-based Colombian artist Oscar Esteban Martinez, debuted during Miami Art Week and remains on view through June 2026. The sculpture, which features a fragmented human face made of puzzle-like segments and mirrored acrylic panels, explores themes of identity, community, and cultural coexistence.
Artists are encouraged to submit proposals for sculptural works, immersive installations, interactive pieces, or mixed-media artworks suitable for outdoor exhibition. The chosen installation will be on display from November 2026 through May 2027, and the selected artist will be responsible for providing a maintenance plan throughout the exhibition period.
Submissions are open to local, national, and international artists, as well as collaborative teams. The deadline to apply is June 8, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. EST. Full submission guidelines and application details can be found on the Lincoln Road website.
