Legendary Pelican Hotel Re-Opened During Basel
Renzo Rosso, the President of OTB Group and Founder of DIESEL, hosted a private penthouse party at his newly renovated Pelican Hotel on Miami Beach. VIP guests gathered for an aperitivo and intimate preview of the beautiful beachfront property, while Renzo and his son Andrea Rosso, designer of the property, chatted about the legendary 32 guest room boutique hotel and its playful design. Notable guests included Pietro and Romeo Ruffini of Moncler, Giacomo Nicoldi of Cardi Gallery and Amber Jae Slooten of The Fabricant as well as several other international elite and influencers within fashion, art, entertainment, media, real estate and government industries.
Following a two-year renovation, the legendary Pelican Hotel located at 826 Ocean Drive, reopened its doors during Art Basel Miami Beach. The coveted penthouse party was hosted by Owner Renzo Rosso, who is also the President of OTB Group and Founder of DIESEL. VIP guests gathered for an aperitivo and intimate preview of the beautiful beachfront property, while Renzo and his son Andrea Rosso, designer of the property, chatted about the legendary 32 guest room boutique hotel and its playful design.

Its original spirit has now been restored by my son Andrea, with authentic Deco furnishings to keep its uniqueness intact. Every room creates the perfect background of a new adventure,” Renzo said during the event. “The Pelican Hotel is a cornerstone of Ocean Drive, and it will always lead the pack with its one-of-a-kind style. We are delighted you could all join us this evening to be the first to preview this major transformation.” Andrea added.
Notable attendees, including international elite and influencers within fashion, art, entertainment, media, real estate and government, gathered on the hotel’s magnificent penthouse terrace, while enjoying drinks and delicious bites by the hotel’s signature eatery, Pelican Café, which is helmed by South Beach’s most adored Italian chef, Wendy Cacciatori.
Enviably situated on Miami’s Ocean Drive overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the design-centric, oceanfront haven pulses with the energy of contemporary fashion, culture, and flavors. Originally built in 1948, the property was purchased by Renzo in 1990 and was then designed and decorated by Renzo himself together with the brand’s creative team. Room themes range from the DIESEL denim “Old Glory,” to the nature permeating “Green Boo,” up until the James Bond-like “Penthouse One” (usually Renzo Rosso’s nest when the fashion mogul is in town) which boasts one of the largest private terraces on Ocean Drive with unparalleled ocean views. The exceptional and meticulously restored property injects new life into the iconic strip, complete with its redesigned in-house restaurant, the Pelican Café.
