Lalique's 2021 Gaïa Collection

LALIQUE, the French glassmaker founded by renowned glassmaker and jeweller René LALIQUE in 1888, introduces the Gaïa collection. In Greek mythology, Gaïa is the goddess of Earth, revered as mother, nurturer, and giver of life. The collection pays homage to Mother Earth and resonates as an invitation to respect, appreciate and marvel at the many wonders provided by nature.

With nature as the golden thread, Lalique revisits its own history and revises its iconic motifs. The crystal manufacturer draws on its own DNA to offer a new perspective and reinvent itself. Thus, the famous Blackbirds and Grapes motifs that travelled on board the mythical Orient-Express find new expression in vases and bowls with timeless lines. Thanks to the talent of its artists and the exceptional expertise of its glass masters, Lalique captures the ornamental and symbolic power of vines and blackberries. The precision of the designs, the purity of the crystal and the play on reflections and transparency give birth to exquisite decorative objects.

The Gaïa collection features Merles & Raisins decorative panels, originally created in pressed glass on a silver background, Mûres vases exhibiting an abundance of berries with satin-finished crystal highlights, Versailles decanter featuring a frieze of grapes and vine leaves and the Merlot collection composed of a decanter and a universal glass, intended for the sophisticated wine connoisseurs. The Gaïa collection also includes playful objects such as the Lalique Kitten and greyhounds.
