The exhibition’s title is a nod to the city’s 18th-century motto Heureux sous son ombre, or “Happy under its shadow,” a phrase referring the city’s origins near the eponymously named forest seeking to project a positive image of a region whose history was plagued over the centuries with various unfortunate incidents.

Produced by the city of Bondy, the Centre National de la Danse in Pantin with the financial support of Département de la Seine-Saint-Denis under the cultural and patrimonial cooperation agreement.
