Kimpton EPIC Hotel in downtown Miami has appointed hospitality veteran Clement Durand as Director of Food & Beverage, placing him in charge of the property’s culinary concepts and dining operations.

Based in Miami, Durand now oversees all food and beverage offerings at Kimpton EPIC Hotel, including the Area 31 restaurant. His responsibilities include menu and programming development, service standards, and the overall dining experience for guests and local visitors.
Durand was born and raised in France and studied at École Hôtelière Le Touquet. Early in his career he worked in both front- and back-of-house roles at Michelin-starred restaurants and luxury hotels, including Le Pavillon at the Westminster Hotel, Le Château de Ligny, and Les Fermes de Marie.
His international experience includes a Chinese culinary program at the Institute of Tourism in Chengdu and participation in the opening of a resort hotel and spa in Mallorca, Spain. He later spent seven years with Swire Hotels in Hong Kong, advancing from Assistant Manager at The Continental Restaurant into a corporate role overseeing the company’s food and beverage portfolio and supporting new hotel openings.
Before joining Kimpton EPIC Hotel, Durand served as Assistant Director of Food & Beverage at EAST Miami, followed by Director of Food & Beverage at the newly opened Andaz Miami Beach.
Durand said he aims to build on the hotel’s existing culinary foundation while introducing new experiences for both guests and the local community.
