Jackson Health Foundation’s Guardian Angels Raise Over $700,000 for Holtz Children’s Hospital

The Jackson Health Foundation’s Guardian Angels and their supporters gathered at the 26th Annual Guardians of the Children Luncheon and Fashion Show on Friday, October 25, at the Coastal Convention Center at Fontainebleau Miami Beach. The event united nearly 600 community leaders and philanthropists in support of Holtz Children’s Hospital, raising more than $700,000 to advance world-class pediatric care in Miami-Dade County.

Guests enjoyed a fashion show presented by Saks Fifth Avenue, featuring designs by Miami- and Jackson-born designer TOCCIN. The afternoon also included a chance drawing with prize packages valued at over $1,000 and a silent auction curated by Paradise a la Carte in partnership with Iberia Airlines, valued at more than $80,000.

Attendees were moved by a patient success story showcasing Holtz Children’s Hospital’s life-changing impact. To date, the Guardian Angels have raised over $44 million through cornerstone fundraising events like this one, helping fund vital hospital renovations, equipment, and patient care initiatives.

“For more than three decades, we have made pediatric fundraising our mission,” said Silvia Rios Fortun, president of the Guardian Angels. “Our efforts have helped purchase advanced fetal surgery equipment, renovate the pediatric hematology/oncology unit, and remodel the Little Miracles Maternity Suites.”

Flavia Llizo, CEO of Jackson Health Foundation, added, “Thanks to Miami-Dade County leaders, taxpayers, and Jackson Health Foundation’s generous donors—especially our Guardian Angels and partners—we are building a healthier, stronger future for our community. These efforts ensure Holtz Children’s Hospital remains a leader in pediatric healthcare innovation.”

The event’s success was made possible by dedicated committee members Andria Ares Holtz, Nicole Holtz Spielman, Silvia Rios Fortun, Vivian Adrian, Angela Andrade, Mari Grimalt, Fana Holtz, Ines Lorenzo-Gomez, Deborah Robins, Marilyn Samlut, and Gloria Sesana, along with the generous support of sponsors including Saks Fifth Avenue, Florida National University, AvMed, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, Perdomo Cigars, Adrian Builders, BNYWealth, and the Ryder Charitable Foundation, among others.

Through events like the Guardians of the Children Luncheon, Jackson Health Foundation continues its mission to ensure every child in Miami-Dade County receives exceptional care—regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
