Jackson Health Foundation Celebrates Record-Breaking Achievements with One Day for Jackson

Jackson Health Foundation proudly celebrates the success of its second annual One Day for Jackson, which occurred on April 3, surpassing expectations with $1million raised to date – quickly exceeding last year’s $550,000. This campaign is a testament to how Jackson employees, local retailers, corporate sponsors and Miami-Dade County residents came together in collective generosity to support Jackson Health System and its commitment to life-changing health care for all Miami-Dade County residents.

Every dollar raised benefits Jackson Health System and will be put towards advanced treatments, innovative technology, and cutting-edge facilities, including a new state-of-the-art emergency room at Jackson Memorial Hospital, which is slated to be one of the largest in the nation once it opens in spring 2026.

“Even if you’ve never stepped inside a Jackson facility, you’ve felt the impact of our work,” said Flavia Llizo, chief executive officer of Jackson Health Foundation. “Whether through life-saving care for a loved one, employment opportunities, or vital community programs, Jackson is at the heart of our community’s well-being. One Day for Jackson is about everyone supporting Jackson, so we can continue making miracles happen every day.” The Miami-Dade County community had the opportunity to support One Day for Jackson by participating in various activities during the week of March 31. The campaign kicked off with the Miami Marlins vs. New York Mets baseball game, where Brianna Denny, a Jackson transplant patient, threw the first pitch. On April 3, retail partners such as Chick-fil-A, Five Guys, Sushi Maki, Vicky Bakery, and many others donated a portion of the proceeds to the campaign. Additionally, the Foundation hosted a series of carnivals across all hospitals that encouraged Jackson employees to get involved.
