Jack Pierson: The Miami Years Exhibition Closes August 9 at The Bass

An exhibition exploring the impact of Miami on artist Jack Pierson’s practice is nearing its final days at The Bass Museum of Art in Miami Beach, with the show scheduled to close on August 9.
Titled Jack Pierson: The Miami Years, the exhibition is the first devoted to examining how the city shaped Pierson’s life and work. It traces how South Beach’s landscape and queer nightlife offered a reprieve from his New York City base, with affordable apartments and secondhand finds supporting the sense of wanderlust and escapism that informs his art.
The exhibition is curated by James Voorhies, former Curator at Large at The Bass, and is supported by Lisson Gallery, Regen Projects, and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation’s New Media Initiative.
