Inaugural Miami-Dade Women’s Summit to Gather Leaders this June

The North Miami Commission for Women, in partnership with the Center for Equitable Access and Treatment of Trauma (CEATT), has announced the inaugural Miami-Dade Women’s Summit. Taking place on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., this historic countywide gathering will be hosted at the Miami-Dade College School of Justice Center on the North Campus.
The first-of-its-kind event aims to bring together government, business, and community leaders to build a unified vision and address pivotal issues impacting women, girls, and families across Miami-Dade County.
Addressing Crucial Concerns for Local Women
The summit's programming is deeply aligned with recent findings from the 2025 Voices of Florida Women Survey Report, which was conducted by the Florida Commission on the Status of Women in partnership with the University of North Florida and the University of Miami School of Law Human Rights Clinic. According to the report, the top concerns among Florida women include economic security (55%), healthcare access and affordability (55%), and violence against women (35%).
Designed by an advisory board chaired by Dr. Naomi Esther Blemur, the summit is curated to foster strategic partnerships, meaningful dialogue, and action-oriented solutions to tackle these evolving challenges.

A Powerful Lineup of South Florida Leaders
The event expects to draw between 500 and 1,000 participants and features a notable lineup of confirmed speakers, advocates, and trailblazers. Attendees will hear from Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, County Commissioner Vicki Lopez, Florida Commission on the Status of Women Commissioner Belinda Keiser, and award-winning attorney and businesswoman Natalie Figgers.

The summit will also feature insights from Dr. Magda Demerritt (Founder of Wonderful Counselor) and Dr. Tania Guerrier (Founder of Mental Health Dealer), with media executive, correspondent, and lifestyle influencer Nicky Wesley serving as the event host.
Highlighting the vital importance of local advocacy and mentorship, Mayor Daniella Levine Cava noted, “Leadership starts at the local level. It’s critically important that we do more to mentor girls and women to prepare them for leadership roles. We have taken steps forward, and that progress will continue to ascend with a greater approach to equality of opportunity across the board.”

Operating under the motto "Rooted in service, rising for change," the North Miami Commission for Women was established in 2021 by Councilwoman Mary Estimé-Irvin to serve in an advisory capacity to the City Council and City Manager.
