Meet Off-Markt, the company that challenges the traditional real estate model by putting homeowners in the driver's seat. No longer constrained by the conventions of the marketplace, Off-Markt empowers users to present their homes through authentic, lived-in narratives. Akin to Zillow, without the barriers and control of how homes are listed on the site, Off-Markt is an Instagram feed of "real estate porn" whereby users can follow properties, share stories, and showcase daily life through videos, photos, and narratives that go way beyond square footage and floor plans.

Alison Bernstein (previously the Founder of Suburban Jungle) created Off-Markt when she found herself wishing she was scrolling through a Pinterest/Instagram feed of REAL homes - and not the curated, overly staged images she usually saw on Zillow. That's when she and her team of developers got to work creating the app, and Off-Markt was born!
Off-Markt has carved out a unique space in the real estate world with a distinct off-market approach. What inspired you to launch Off-Markt, and how has it evolved since its inception?
Off-Markt was created based on the enormous market that exists of people that would sell if someone approached them … and would buy if there was an opportunity— when not even going on the market. We are called Off-Markt because there should be no such thing as going “ON the market”…everything is available anywhere, anytime. I felt that the conversation and connection between homeowners could be more organic. If we enabled this by allowing homeowners to share the story of their homes (not just have a few staged photos) and control the digital footprint of their home, it would ultimately redefine the residential real estate market and create a more liquid marketplace for all homes.
Miami is one of the most dynamic real estate markets in the country. How has your presence in Miami influenced the strategy and growth of Off-Markt? And what trends are you currently seeing?
Off‑Markt’s core model—user-owned storytelling, discreet engagement, and a pro SaaS model—aligns seamlessly with Miami’s real estate DNA: a city defined by off‑market luxury, global buyers, and an emphasis on lifestyle presentation. Miami stands as a strategic proving ground, reinforcing Off‑Markt’s value proposition, while also guiding enhancements in content presentation, pro services, and international engagement.
Off‑Markt operates as a peer‑to‑peer, Instagram‑style off‑market platform where homeowners “own the narrative” of their homes, sharing photos and stories to attract buyers organically anywhere, anytime—all without formally listing properties. The platform is for EVERY homeowner, NOT just those looking to possibly sell.
Miami's booming luxury market features highly design-oriented and lifestyle-focused homes. Off‑Markt leans into this by enabling homeowners to build visually captivating feeds—highlighting waterfront views, resort-style amenities, and the region’s vibrant character. This aligns perfectly with both the platform’s strength in narrative-driven content and Miami’s buyer expectations.
Miami sellers often value discretion. Off‑Markt’s model—homeowners control when and how to show their home—resonates strongly with this need. The platform’s “always-on” feed allows a soft entry into the market without a formal listing, aligning with Miami’s culture of low-profile high-end sales .
You’ve built strong networks in both New York and Miami—two very different but equally competitive markets. What have you learned from each city, and how do they complement your business model?
New York and Miami both have smart, savvy buyers who demand excellence but also require information and transparency instantaneously. These two markets have embraced our model because people move fast, and want to see “everything” on the market. The thought of seeing things on the market, AND all else is the key driver to our model, and what makes these markets move. Our belief is that everyone is a buyer, and everyone is a seller even when not on the market and even when not even thinking of selling or buying…. At any point, everywhere and anywhere. Both markets embrace this concept.
Outside of real estate, what are your favorite Miami spots or local businesses that capture the spirit of the city for you?
I love Miami for all of my favorite sports: golf, tennis, padel, pickleball...I also love Pura Vida and No Far Pilates. Valery Joseph is my go-to for a great blow out…even though Miami hair is what it is :)
