Hollywood Mayor Levy Declares June 1st, 2021 “Diplomat Beach Resort Day"

After being closed for 14 months due to the global pandemic, Broward County’s largest hotel The Diplomat Beach Resort officially reopened its doors on Tuesday, June 1st with a televised press conference. Led by the property’s general manager, Laurens Zieren, both national and regional press, alongside the hotel’s original owners (The Cowan Family) and Hollywood city officials celebrated the cultural and economic significance of the iconic hotel’s relaunch. To top it off, Hollywood’s Mayor Josh Levy presented Zieren with a proclamation declaring June 1st, 2021 as “Diplomat Beach Resort Day.”

Mayor Levy proclaimed “The Diplomat Beach Resort is a landmark for the City of Hollywood and all of South Florida, its cultural and economic impact over the span of many decades remains unmatched.”

Which echoed the sentiments of Laurens Zieren when stating “One of the most important things for us is welcoming back our staff and our guests.”

And to show The Diplomat’s appreciation for returning guests, Zieren surprised the first checked-in guests (Olga Levchenko, Daniel Babinov, & child) with a certificate covering their entire 7-day visit from Upstate New York.
