Hispanic Heritage Month in Miami 2026: Events, Exhibitions, Music and Food
Free concerts at the Adrienne Arsht Center, community festivals and Latin American art exhibitions offer several ways to experience Hispanic Heritage Month in Miami, observed September 15 through October 15. The 2026 calendar includes the South Florida premiere of Buena Vista Social Club, alongside opportunities to take a salsa class, explore Cuban cooking and see work by Venezuelan and Chilean artists.

Events and Live Music
Doral Hispanic Heritage Celebration in the Park
Date: September 12, 6–10 p.m.
Doral begins its celebrations three days before the national observance with the Hispanic Heritage Celebration in the Park. The announced program includes live mariachi and salsa, folkloric performances and the Best Empanada in Doral competition.
Admission is free and open to the public, with registration available through the city’s event page. Organizers encourage visitors to bring a chair or blanket for the outdoor program.
Salsa Classes at Doral Cultural Arts Center
Dates: September 15 and October 6, 7–8 p.m.

The city’s Hispanic Heritage Dance Classes welcome participants of all skill levels for an hour of salsa instruction. The Cultural Arts Center sessions cost $10 each, with online registration available through the official listing.

Miami Beach Hispanic Heritage Festival
Date: September 18, 6–9 p.m.
Miami Beach’s Hispanic Heritage Festival features performances by Parks & Recreation afterschool programs, with rides, bounce houses and a food vendor also listed. The neighborhood park setting and children’s activities make this a practical option for families.
The city asks families to preregister through its parks registration system to obtain free wristbands for unlimited rides and bounce houses. The registration link is included on the official event page.
Buena Vista Social Club at the Arsht Center
Dates: September 29–October 4
Location: Ziff Ballet Opera House, Adrienne Arsht Center, Miami
The South Florida premiere of Buena Vista Social Club opens the Arsht’s 2026–27 Broadway in Miami season. Inspired by the Cuban album, the musical follows a story of music and memory centered on singer Omara Portuondo. Its local connections include a book by Hialeah native Marco Ramirez and choreography by Miami native Patricia Delgado with Justin Peck, as detailed in the Arsht’s announcement.
Tickets are listed at $52.65–$228.15, including fees. The production runs approximately two hours and 10 minutes with one intermission and is recommended for ages 8 and older. The schedule includes evening performances and weekend matinees.
Rhythm & Roots: Free Music and Cuban Culture

Location: Thomson Plaza for the Arts, Adrienne Arsht Center, Miami
The Arsht’s Rhythm & Roots pairs free performances with dancing, domino games and local vendors. The announced lineup includes Yissy García and Leslie Cartaya on September 29, Palo on September 30, Cortadito and 6Jam on October 1, and OKAN on October 2. Mr. Pauer appears on the October 3 and 4 programs, alongside additional performers.
Visitors can also explore Cuban cultural exhibitions, artifacts and photography through collaborations with community organizations. Programs begin at 6 p.m. September 29–October 1, 6:30 p.m. October 2, 4 p.m. October 3 and 3 p.m. October 4. Admission is free, but every attendee needs a ticket, regardless of age. Tickets to the Buena Vista Social Club musical are sold separately.
Chucho Valdés 85th Birthday Celebration
Date: October 3, 8 p.m.
Location: Knight Concert Hall, Adrienne Arsht Center, Miami
Cuban pianist, composer and arranger Chucho Valdés marks his 85th birthday year with a concert at the Arsht. The announced program features special guests Joe Lovano and Terence Blanchard, adding a concert focused on Afro-Cuban jazz to the month’s music offerings.

Sabor Fest in Miami Lakes
Date: October 10, 4–9 p.m.

Miami Lakes’ Sabor Fest combines live entertainment and food with art and handcrafted goods from Hispanic artists and vendors. The town’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration takes place on Main Street, offering an evening to browse vendors and hear music in the same setting.
Attendee registration is available through the town’s official event page, which also provides a separate application for vendors.
Latin American Art at PAMM

Two installations at PAMM offer different perspectives on Latin American art during the observance. Carlos Cruz-Diez: Chromosaturation, on view through September 27, presents interconnected chambers illuminated in red, green and blue. The Caracas-born artist’s work makes the visitor’s perception of color central to the experience.
Cecilia Vicuña: Quipu Gut, on view through November 1, uses knotted strands of red, unspun wool. The Chilean artist draws on the Andean quipu, a system of recording information through knotted strings, connecting the installation to Indigenous knowledge, memory and environmental concerns.
These are ongoing exhibitions available during Hispanic Heritage Month. PAMM admission is $18 for adults and $14 for students with ID, seniors 62 and older, and visitors ages 7–18. Children 6 and younger enter free, and general admission is free on Thursdays after 5 p.m. The museum closes Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Cuban Food and Live Music in Little Havana
Café La Trova
Address: 971 SW Eighth Street, Miami
Café La Trova offers a dining option during the month through its Miami Spice dinner menu, available Sunday through Thursday until September 30. The $50 menu includes an appetizer, entrée and dessert, with choices such as croquetas, skirt steak ropa vieja and flan. The restaurant limits the offer to parties of 10 or fewer and lists supplements for certain selections.
Its regular live music schedule continues beyond Miami Spice: performances begin at 7 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Reservations are available through the restaurant’s website.
