Hermès Luxurious Textiles for Your Home

The inspiration for Hermès’ line of luxurious textiles came from the pages of the jockey silks registers, where silk satin samples were archived with each new order. These registers were compiled by the seamstresses in the workshop producing jockey silks and horse blankets. It was adjacent to the saddlery workshop at 24 Faubourg Saint-Honoré and operated from 1905 to 1982. Each of these 5 cushions stitched with silk twill has a distinctive character, making them perfect for mixing in order to create a personalized home interior.

Avalon Tangram Blanket

A geometric tangram featuring the H signature is formed by a combination of dyes and colors. Initially, the material is woven by hand before being folded and dipped in three different color baths to create new color variations. The signature is created by attaching a wooden H to the plaid before it is dipped in the dye baths, thus preventing any color from penetrating the material in that precise area.

H Riviera Pillow

The design of these plaids and cushions was created by Studio Hermès, and inspired by an Hermès advertising visual that first appeared in the May 1929 issue of Vogue to present travel accessories. This extremely graphic, shaded H has been retained from the original visual in intense and bold color variations. Its name H Riviera subtly evokes the emergence of sunbathing in the 1930s.

Parcours de Sangles Blanket

This design by Anne Roussel and Veronika Wildgruber draws inspiration from the illustrated catalogues of the Emile Hermes Museum featuring a great variety of equestrian straps.
