Inside HENGE's H ISTRA: A Residence Where Architecture Meets Nature

Miami Living takes you inside H ISTRA, HENGE's latest residential project, from the Italian design brand whose flagship Miami showroom is located in the Miami Design District. The residence explores the relationship between architecture, materials and landscape, combining two highly complex construction systems: a monolithic concrete-and-glass structure and a traditional log cabin built from rare kelo pine. Set beside a forest pond, the home contrasts wood, glass and marble to create a direct connection with its natural surroundings.
Designed in close collaboration between the homeowner and architect, the residence follows a minimalist concept with Nordic influences. A central concrete volume houses the kitchen, living and dining areas, while adjoining log structures contain the bedrooms, sauna and recreation spaces. Contemporary artworks are integrated throughout the interiors alongside natural materials, including Italian breccia marble with black inclusions and exposed kelo pine.
For HENGE, H ISTRA represents one of the brand's most complete residential expressions. Every interior space is furnished exclusively with HENGE pieces, including the kitchen, dining collection, sofas, shelving systems, lighting and signature furniture. The project also introduced several custom-designed elements, including a bespoke kitchen, built-in wardrobes, extended Radical deck chairs and custom beds created specifically for the residence.
The home encompasses 332.65 square metres of interior living space and 690.37 square metres including the terraces. More than a private residence, H ISTRA demonstrates HENGE's integrated approach to architecture, interior design and craftsmanship.
