Heat Re-Sign Dru Smith

Your Miami HEAT announced today that they have re-signed guard Dru Smith. Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Smith, who suffered a season-ending injury on December 23, appeared in 14 games (one start) with the HEAT last season and averaged 6.2 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and a team-leading 1.50 steals in 19.2 minutes of action while shooting 50.8 percent from the field, 53.3 percent from three-point range and 75 percent from the foul line. He recorded five multi-trey games and connected on a three-point field goal in a career-high nine consecutive games from November 18 through December 21. He recorded a career-high six steals at Detroit on December 16, the most in any game by any HEAT player last season. Additionally, Smith led the Miami reserves in steals six times, assists and blocks four times each, points, minutes and plus/minus on three occasions each and in rebounds twice.
