HAO YANG: Guitar Recital



Guitarist Hao Yang, celebrated for her virtuosity and innovative approach, captivates audiences with her broad musical spectrum and passion for chamber music. Her remarkable career includes a debut at Carnegie Hall, premiering 'Talking Guitars' by renowned composer Paul Lansky alongside guitarist JIJI.


Yang excels in diverse ensemble settings, from guitar quintets to unique voice and guitar pairings, continuously exploring the guitar's potential in classical music. Her recent projects feature a Chinese poetry-inspired program, blending cultural heritage with classical nuances to create rich, evocative performances.


As a recording artist, Yang has collaborated with the GRAMMY Award-winning Bridge Records Inc., contributing to new chamber works by Paul Lansky and Poul Ruders. Her excellence extends to competitive successes, including top prizes at the Koblenz International Guitar Competition “Hubert Käppel” 2024, the GFA International Concert Artist Competition 2024, and several other prestigious awards.


Educated at Curtis Institute of Music and Lamont School of Music, and currently at Yale School of Music, Yang's performances offer a dynamic showcase of her exceptional skills and artistic sensitivity, promising an unforgettable experience of profound beauty and expressive power.
