Gulfstream Park is set to swap Thoroughbreds for Corgis with the debut of the inaugural Coastal Corgi Classic on Saturday, March 14, 2026. The family-friendly event introduces a new kind of live racing to the Hallandale Beach track, featuring registered Corgis competing in short, controlled sprint races on the dirt track under strict safety and animal-welfare guidelines.

The competition will consist of four qualifying heats, with the top three finishers from each heat advancing to the Championship race. The top three overall winners will receive medals and trophies, while all entrants will be gifted swag bags that include dog bowls, tennis balls, and more. The track strictly notes that this is a Corgi-only event, and no other breeds will be allowed on the property.
Check-in for participating Corgis will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Carousel Club Garden. The event reflects Gulfstream Park Racing’s commitment to providing innovative, community-focused entertainment.
