With its flagship boutique in the Miami Design District, Gucci has introduced La Famiglia, a new collection that signals the start of an unapologetically sexy, extravagant, and daring era for the Italian fashion house.
Photographed by Catherine Opie, La Famiglia celebrates the essence of “Gucciness” through framed portraits of a diverse Gucci family—personalities who embody the brand’s distinctive aesthetic attitudes. Each character reflects a facet of the House’s heritage and modern spirit, from L’Archetipo, a monogrammed travel trunk honoring Gucci’s origins as a luxury luggage maker, to La Bomba, defined by feline sass, and La Cattiva, capturing the elegance of a femme fatale.
The collection reinterprets Gucci signatures with new energy. The iconic Gucci Bamboo 1947 bag is re-proportioned for modern style, the Horsebit loafer—a staple since 1953—is revived, and the Flora motif returns in both its classic and nocturnal incarnations. Meanwhile, the GG monogram dominates in bold, head-to-toe looks, from accessories to apparel.
Silhouettes range from maximalist grandeur, such as feathered opera coats and high jewelry, to minimal, sensual designs like seamless hosiery pieces. Eveningwear influences extend into menswear with daring black-tie swimwear and transparent bodycon sets, a nod to la dolce vita for a new generation.
La Famiglia underscores Gucci’s renewed focus on storytelling, blending heritage with forward-looking design.
The collection sets the stage for creative director Demna’s debut runway show in February, marking a pivotal chapter for the House.
