Gucci unveiled The Tiger, a new short film directed by Academy Award–winner Spike Jonze and filmmaker Halina Reijn, featuring designs from the debut La Famiglia collection by Artistic Director Demna. The film premiered in Milan and, contrary to earlier speculation about Miami, will instead screen in New York City today, September 24, underscoring Gucci’s commitment to cultural hubs where fashion and cinema intersect.
A Story of Family and Power
The Tiger follows Barbara Gucci, Head of Gucci International and Chairman of California, as she gathers her children and a distinguished guest for her birthday celebration. Beneath the polished surface, Barbara struggles to juggle family dynamics, corporate reputation, and her own desire for control. When the evening takes an unexpected turn, her carefully built façade begins to crumble, forcing the family to confront a new reality.
Ensemble Cast
The short film features an ensemble of acclaimed actors, including Demi Moore, Edward Norton, Ed Harris, Elliot Page, Keke Palmer, Alia Shawkat, Julianne Nicholson, Heather Lawless, Ronny Chieng, Kendall Jenner, and Alex Consani.
Screenings in New York and Milan
After its Milan debut, The Tiger will have a special New York City screening on September 24 at Cinema Village. The film will then return to Italy for a presentation on September 25 at Palazzo Mezzanotte in Milan. Notably, The Tiger will not screen in Miami. Tickets are available on gucci.com.
Launch of Demna’s La Famiglia Collection
Coinciding with the release of the film, Gucci will offer an exclusive early preview of Demna’s La Famiglia collection at 10 flagship stores worldwide, including Wooster Street (New York), Rodeo Drive (Los Angeles), Milan, Paris, London, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul, and Singapore. The limited-time preview begins September 25, ahead of the full global launch in January 2026.
