Golf & Gains: Wonder Paws Hosts "Par for the Paws" Charity Golf Tournament Saturday, October 15
For the second year in a row, Fort Lauderdale's Wonder Paws Rescue is putting on the paw-tastic benefit Par for the Paws to help abandoned pets and find adopters who will provide loving homes. The annual charity golf tournament will take place on Saturday, October 15 from noon to 8 p.m. at the Jacaranda Golf Club, where participants will experience various golf games, delicious food and opportunities to give to a dog-gone good cause.
Those excited to take part in the community affair must register in advance, with multiple options to putt, party, sponsor or underwrite. Participants can make their way around the event like a golf ball across the green. Par for the Paws has a handful of tournaments planned, such a $100,000 shootout for four players and a special putt to win a seven-night resort stay.
On the big day, golfer check-in starts at noon alongside a Welcome BBQ and Open Bar, followed by a shotgun scramble at 1:30 p.m. Par for the Paws will provide complimentary beverages during the play to players. The day ends with a banquet party for all guests at 5:30 p.m., featuring food and drink, a live DJ, raffles and a silent auction.
Wonder Paws Rescue is an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of dogs and cats throughout the South Florida community. All proceeds from Par for the Paws will go to the rescue. In 2021, proceeds from the tournament helped Wonder Paws Rescue with over $200,000 in medical expenses to give care to needy pets. This year, all donations up to $25,000 will be matched by an angel donor.
