Game On: Julia & Henry’s Downtown Cup Takes Over Downtown Miami

Get ready, Miami! Julia & Henry’s is breaking new ground with The Downtown Cup, an all-new soccer tournament bringing the energy of the world’s biggest competitions straight to the heart of the city. Beginning April 25, Flagler Street will transform into the Delta & LATAM Soccer Field, a pop-up pitch where players can showcase their skills, connect with the community and compete for exciting prizes.
In partnership with Delta Air Lines, LATAM, the Miami Downtown Development Authority and Celsius, The Downtown Cup welcomes players of all ages and skill levels. The stakes are high—adult division champions will score five round-trip flights to South America, thanks to Delta and LATAM. Meanwhile, runners-up will enjoy a Michelin-recognized dining experience with five dinners for two at Torno Subito, courtesy of Don Q.
“This event is about bringing the Downtown Miami community together through sport and shared experiences,” said Daniel Peña, founder of Julia & Henry’s. “Whether you’re a die-hard soccer fan or just looking for a fun weekend activity, The Downtown Cup is all about participation and connection. And of course, after the games, Julia & Henry’s will be the perfect spot to celebrate.”
How to Play
The Downtown Cup is designed for 5v5 teams, with each match featuring two 35-minute halves and a five-minute halftime. Teams can register in one of three divisions:
Adults (15+)
Teens (11-14)
Kids (10 & under)
Players can wear whatever they feel comfortable in—no cleats required. Registration is $20 per player, with a $100 team entry fee. The deadline to sign up is April 23.
More Than Just a Tournament
The Delta & LATAM Soccer Field will be open for pick-up games and free play starting April 21. Players can reserve time slots via the Plei App beginning April 18 by searching for “downtown fields.” The 75x35-foot professional-grade turf field features 11-foot net enclosures, making it an ideal setting for both competitive and recreational play.
Schedule
Tournament Matches: Weekdays from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., weekends from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Pick-up Soccer: Weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekends from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m.
