While Miami is known for its luxury towers and high-end developments, Gabriela Borja, Chief Marketing Officer at Fortec, has helped shape the company’s vision by championing a different kind of growth: early childhood education centers that strengthen communities from the ground up.

Her path to shaping communities through development and marketing blends strategy, creativity and a deep understanding of people. Gabriela earned a degree in Psychology from Florida International University, giving her insight into human behavior and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Miami, honing her skills in brand strategy. Her career spans real estate and advertising - including hospitality and automotive clients - providing a broad marketing foundation she now applies to Fortec’s specialized mission in building classrooms.
Fortec fills a critical need in communities across the U.S., creating purpose-built schools that meet the operational and educational demands of modern families. Many parents face long waitlists and limited access to quality early education, while operators navigate licensing, zoning and construction challenges. Gabriela’s marketing expertise ensures that Fortec’s mission—to build schools that empower growth and serve communities—is clearly communicated and recognized.

Outside of work, Gabriela balances her professional life with family, wellness and creativity. A mother of two, she enjoys cooking her family’s meals, reflecting her deep passion for nutrition and healthy living. She also maintains a disciplined fitness routine that includes strength training, yoga, running and boxing. Gabriela is equally passionate about fashion, interior design, travel and the arts. In Key Biscayne, she worked closely with IG Workshop Interiors to design her family home to reflect her personal style and has recently begun curating her own art collection.
Through her heritage, career and personal life, Gabriela exemplifies the values celebrated during Hispanic Heritage Month: resilience, leadership and a commitment to community. Her story is a reminder that leadership can be ambitious and authentic and purposeful, and deeply rooted in the cultures and experiences that shape us.
