Frost Science Marks Ninth Anniversary With Extreme Sports Exhibition and May Events
The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science in Miami is highlighting the science of human potential throughout May as it marks nine years since opening, introducing a new special exhibition and a series of programs focused on sports, innovation, and community engagement.
The museum will debut Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits to the public on Saturday, May 16, with a members-only preview on Friday, May 15 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The exhibition examines the science behind high-intensity activities such as wingsuit flying, rock climbing, and freediving, and includes a Science of Soccer experience as Miami prepares for FIFA World Cup 2026. The show is sponsored by iFLY Miami and was developed and produced by Science North in partnership with the Ontario Science Centre.
May is also Member Appreciation Month, with Frost Science offering members special surprises, giveaways, and pop-up moments across the museum, along with complimentary treats on weekends at Food@Science while supplies last. In addition, the museum is promoting an America250: Celebrating American Innovation poster exhibit that recognizes scientists, engineers, and innovators, and is hosting an anniversary Laser Evening on Friday, May 8 featuring a lineup of themed laser shows in the Frost Planetarium.
Families can take advantage of the Florida Youth Explorer Ticket Offer, which provides youth ages 4 to 11 with admission for $13.95 through Thursday, May 14 when purchased onsite with valid Florida identification, and visitors can plan their day at the museum by exploring additional programs such as sensory-friendly Just for Me sessions, conservation-focused MUVE volunteer workdays at Crandon Park, and summer paleontology Digging Expeditions in Montana.
