The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science in downtown Miami will host a full day of activities for World Ocean Day on Saturday, June 6, highlighting marine conservation and the role of American innovation in protecting the oceans.

The event will feature hands-on STEM activities, community partner activations and immersive experiences inspired by the global theme “Strong Marine Protected Areas for Our Blue Planet.” Programming is included with paid museum admission and will run from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with normal admission rates in effect.

Throughout the day, visitors can participate in interactive partner activities and a book reading across all levels of the museum, and they can attend a new Frost Planetarium show, UniVERSE, developed in partnership with O, Miami and Topos Graphics, featuring poetry written by local residents and students.

As part of the museum’s America250: Celebrating American Innovation programming, guests can watch a new short film narrated by Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava inside the Frost Planetarium and take part in a passport program that guides them through a poster exhibit on pioneers in ocean science and related fields, with a prize available at the Science Store.

Frost Science members who attend on World Ocean Day will receive one complimentary premium Roseate Spoonbill plush per member household while supplies last, redeemable at the Science Store. In addition, on behalf of the Miami Downtown Development Authority, residents of downtown Miami will receive a 10% discount on purchases at the Science Store on June 6 with a photo ID showing an eligible downtown zip code.

Full event details and schedule are available on the museum website and museum visit information can be found here.
