The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science in Miami is extending its operating hours for spring break and launching a series of seasonal programs, including Spring Camp 2026, family storytime events, adult-focused evenings and partner experiences at the Frost Planetarium.

As a spring break special, the museum will remain open until 6:00 p.m. daily from Tuesday, March 24 through Sunday, March 29. The museum will be closed to the public on Monday, March 23 because of previously scheduled programming, although Spring Camp activities will proceed as planned. Visitors are encouraged to plan your day in advance.

Registration is open for Spring Camp 2026, running Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27. The weeklong program for children ages 5 to 11 is designed to support science learning, while the Curator-in-Training Program offers students ages 12 to 15 opportunities to develop leadership skills in STEM. Details and registration for the camp are available online.

An adults-only evening program, nightLAB: Forces of Nature, will take place on Thursday, April 2 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The event will feature high-energy experiments, interactive programming and a special showing of "Wildest Weather in Our Solar System" in the Frost Planetarium, and it will be the final opportunity to see the exhibition "Leonardo da Vinci – 500 Years of Genius" before it closes on Sunday, April 5. Tickets can be purchased here with an advanced rate available through Thursday, March 26.

Frost Science is also promoting Digging Expeditions, a series of paleontology field experiences in Havre, Montana, where participants ages 14 and older can work alongside scientists to excavate dinosaur fossils and learn field techniques. Sessions are scheduled for June 14–20, July 5–11 and August 2–8, 2026, and more information is provided in the museum’s Digging Deeper science story and expedition overview pages.

Looking ahead to Summer 2027, the museum is inviting public feedback on potential special exhibitions through a brief online survey. Respondents can share their preferences and enter for a chance to win a Science Store prize pack by completing the questionnaire here.
