The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science in Miami is kicking off February 2026 with a slate of science-focused programs, laser shows, volunteer activities, and a Spring Camp centered on black holes and deep space, while also promoting new educational content and gift options for visitors.

Valentine’s Laser Evening
Frost Science is hosting a Valentine’s Day edition of its Laser Evening series on Saturday, February 14, with show times scheduled throughout the evening in the Frost Planetarium. The program will feature the Laser Love show alongside music-focused laser presentations set to Fleetwood Mac, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish.

Tickets for the Valentine’s Laser Evening can be purchased in advance through the museum’s ticketing page subject to availability.
Volunteer and Accessibility Programs
On Saturday, February 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the Museum Volunteers for the Environment (MUVE) team will hold a volunteer workday at Virginia Key North Beach Park. Participants will engage in citizen science and nature-based restoration activities designed to support local coastal habitats.
Those interested in joining the MUVE workday can sign up through the museum’s online registration form in advance of the event.
Sensory-Friendly Brain Games
Also on Saturday, February 21, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Frost Science will present “Just for Me: Brain Games,” a sensory-friendly program for individuals with diverse sensory and accessibility needs and their families. The session will include hands-on exploration, discovery-based activities, and tailored activations designed to create a more comfortable museum experience.
Mini-Me Science in Everglades
For younger audiences, the “Mini-Me Science: Into the Wild – Everglades National Park” program will take place Sunday, February 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Designed for children ages three to six and their families, the event features ranger-led nature walks, hands-on STEM activities, and storytelling inspired by the Everglades ecosystem.
March Laser Evening
Looking ahead, Frost Science will continue its laser programming with another Laser Evening on Saturday, March 7. Show times will vary throughout the evening and will feature laser presentations set to Movie Magic, The Best of The Beatles, Gorillaz, and Bad Bunny.
Laser Love Daily Show
In addition to special evening programs, the Frost Planetarium is presenting “Laser Love” as a daily show at 3:00 p.m. through Sunday, February 15. The presentation pairs full-dome laser visuals with well-known love songs, including tracks such as “Crazy in Love,” “Love Story,” “Ojitos Lindos,” and “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing.”
The laser show is offered as a $5 add-on to regular museum admission, with tickets available for purchase onsite. Frost Science positions the experience as an option for couples, groups of friends, or solo visitors seeking a themed planetary show during the Valentine’s season.
Spring Camp 2026
Registration is now open for Spring Camp 2026 at Frost Science, scheduled from Monday, March 23, through Friday, March 27. The weeklong program is aimed at children ages 5 to 15 who are on school break and want to explore science topics through structured activities and museum access.
Under the theme “Spring Camp: Black Holes and Beyond,” campers will explore museum exhibits, attend a Frost Planetarium show, and take part in interactive experiments that introduce concepts such as time dilation and dark matter. The camp is designed to build curiosity about astrophysics through age-appropriate content and hands-on learning.
Older participants ages 12 to 15 can enroll in the Curator-in-Training Spring Camp track, where they will develop a scientific resource or video aligned with one of Frost Science’s current exhibitions. The program gives teens an opportunity to work more independently, build presentation skills, and gain insight into museum curation and interpretation.
New Paleontology Series
Frost Science is also expanding its digital educational content with “Digging Deeper,” a new paleontology blog series. The debut post, authored by Dr. Cary Woodruff, curator of vertebrate paleontology, surveys significant dinosaur discoveries and research advances reported in 2025.
