Foreigner will step into one of the country’s most-watched holiday traditions this year, performing atop the new Stranger Things float during the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The rock band, known for more than a dozen multi-platinum albums and global sales topping 80 million, will bring “Cold As Ice” to the streets of Manhattan on November 27.

The partnership arrives as Stranger Things approaches its conclusion. The Netflix series will roll out its fifth and final season in three parts: four episodes on November 26, three on Christmas Day, and the finale on New Year’s Eve. The parade appearance marks the debut of the “Upside Down Invasion: Stranger Things” float, which transforms the Parade route with imagery from the show, including an on-route Demogorgon.
The annual event draws millions of spectators and features its signature mix of character balloons, floats, live performances, and the arrival of Santa Claus. For Foreigner, it adds another milestone to a catalog that includes enduring hits such as “Juke Box Hero,” “Hot Blooded,” “Urgent,” and “I Want To Know What Love Is.”
The band’s music has seen renewed visibility through extensive placements across film, television, advertising, and digital media. Stranger Things has previously featured several Foreigner tracks, while titles such as Happy Gilmore 2, Rock of Ages, Bad Moms, Magic Mike, The Eternals, and series like Orange Is the New Black, Wednesday, and Euphoria have also showcased the group’s songs.
The 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air live on NBC and Peacock beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET/CT. Additional updates are available on Macy’s official website and on its social channels, including Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
Foreigner’s lineup includes founder Mick Jones, a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, along with Luis Maldonado, Jeff Pilson, Michael Bluestein, Bruce Watson, and Chris Frazier. More information is available on the band’s official website.
