Fooq’s Reopens in Little River, Marking a New Era for a Miami Dining Institution

Fooq’s, the Mediterranean-inspired restaurant founded by David Foulquier, is returning to Miami on January 23, 2026, reopening in Little River at 150 NW 73rd Street after a four-year hiatus. The comeback signals a new phase for the long-standing restaurant, expanding its original identity into a broader cultural and hospitality-driven concept.

First opened in Downtown Miami in 2015, Fooq’s was shaped by Foulquier’s personal history, global travels, and focus on community. The new Little River location reflects that foundation while significantly scaling it. The restaurant now occupies a 14,000-square-foot, two-story space designed with Joyn Studio to feel immersive and lived-in rather than formal.

Above the restaurant sits Lion’s Den, a vinyl-focused music lounge programmed by David Foulquier, Manuel Mate (MANUMAT), and Mariana Pinto of Alchemy Music. The space features late-night DJ sets highlighting both local and international talent, positioning Fooq’s as a destination that extends beyond dining.

The interior design blends Middle Eastern references with 1970s textures and mid-century influences. A central bookshelf anchors the space, filled with personal photographs, books, and artifacts from Foulquier’s family home. Artwork by Austyn Weiner, photography by Jay Blakesberg, and curated pieces from Morrison Hotel Gallery connect the restaurant to music and cultural history, reinforcing its community-driven approach.

The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Andrew Bazzini, whose background includes New York restaurants such as Olmsted and LT Bar & Grill. Working alongside David and Josh Foulquier, Bazzini developed a menu influenced by their French-Persian upbringing, seasonal ingredients, and classic European technique. Persian flavors serve as a consistent undertone, resulting in an American menu designed for sharing. The kitchen centers around a custom wood-fired cooking suite by Demant Grills, supporting large-format proteins and vegetable-driven dishes intended for communal dining.

The beverage program reflects the founders’ long-standing focus on wine, featuring a cellar of roughly 1,000 curated vintage bottles from regions including Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Rioja, and Napa Valley. Cocktails incorporate Persian ingredients such as saffron, pistachio, and pomegranate, while the spirits list emphasizes artisanal producers and agave-based selections. Non-alcoholic Persian sharbats are also offered.

Fooq’s reopening arrives as Little River continues to grow as a dining and cultural hub, adding another high-profile destination to the neighborhood’s evolving landscape.
