Florida Grand Opera is emphasizing its mission to present large scale opera productions that combine powerful voices, theatrical storytelling, and elaborate staging for audiences in South Florida.

The company produces classic grand opera, contemporary works, and new commissions in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. Founded in 1941 as the Opera Guild of Greater Miami by Arturo Di Filippi and merged with the Opera Guild of Fort Lauderdale in 1994, it now operates under the direction of Maria Todaro.
Florida Grand Opera was the first producing arts organization in Florida and is among the oldest opera companies in the United States. Through its Florida Grand Opera Studio, the organization trains emerging singers who support mainstage productions and perform in the community across South Florida.
More information about the company’s performances and programs is available on the Florida Grand Opera website.
