Florida Grand Opera Appoints Three New Members to Board of Directors
The Florida Grand Opera (FGO) has announced the appointment of Giacomo Bossa, Sandra Savini, and Chang Oh Turkmani to its Board of Directors. These professionals bring extensive experience and leadership skills that are expected to contribute significantly to the opera's ongoing success and growth.
Giacomo Bossa is a Partner at Barakat + Bossa, known for his expertise in navigating various legal jurisdictions and cultural frameworks. Bossa leads trials to verdicts and provides clients with innovative, cost-effective solutions. His proficiency in cross-border matters is valuable for reconciling cultural divergences. Before moving to the United States, Bossa lived in Italy, Belgium, and Spain, and he is fluent in Italian, Spanish, and conversational French. He is double board certified in business litigation and real estate and has been recognized for his business acumen by the Florida Bar. In 2024, Bossa presented at the International Law Section on Arbitrators' disqualification and conflict of interest. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, with Pro hac vice work in multiple states.
Sandra Savini is Vice President of Genesis Interiors, LLC, a family-owned firm specializing in bespoke superyacht interiors and high-end residential projects. Since 2005, Savini has been instrumental in developing the company’s strategic plans from facilities in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Viareggio, Italy. Before Genesis Interiors, she held positions at luxury brands like Van Cleef & Arpels, Loro Piana, and Lalique, enhancing brand awareness and driving growth in sales and market share in Miami. Savini is trilingual in English, Italian, and French and also speaks Spanish, German, and Portuguese. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management from Florida International University and is an active member of the Key Biscayne Yacht Club and the Metropolitan Club in New York.
Chang Oh Turkmani is a businesswoman with extensive expertise in various industries, including the import and export of industrial commodities, mining, manufacturing, construction, energy trading, shipping, environmental remediation, renewable energy, and investment advisory. Since 1990, Turkmani has served as the Managing Director and Principal of The Mega Company, and also holds roles at American Construction Technologies and Crest Energy. Additionally, she has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown University Law Center since 2003 and has held board positions with Technology Minerals PLC, the National Cancer Advisory Board, Alianta, and the American Romanian Business Council.
