Florida Grand Opera has announced a 2026–2027 season focused on Italian-language works, featuring three full productions and a Verdi concert in Miami and Fort Lauderdale.

The season opens with Gaetano Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, with a libretto by Salvadore Cammarano, set in the Scottish Highlands and centered on the doomed relationship between Lucia and Edgardo and the heroine’s celebrated mad scene.
Mozart’s Don Giovanni, to a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte, follows the title character’s series of deceptions and violence, including the killing of a woman’s father, leading to a climactic scene in which the unrepentant Don is confronted by supernatural justice.
Giuseppe Verdi’s Nabucco portrays the Babylonian king’s conquest of Jerusalem and the exile of the Hebrews, highlighting internal power struggles involving Abigaille and Fenena and exploring themes of exile, identity, and the possibility of redemption.
The company will also present a one-night Verdi tribute at the Broward Center’s Au-Rene Theater, featuring arias from La traviata, Rigoletto, Aida, Nabucco, Il trovatore, Don Carlos, Otello, and other works, performed by international soloists with Florida Grand Opera’s chorus and orchestra.
Subscriptions for the season are available through Florida Grand Opera’s ticketing site.
