One of the world’s most enduring and widely played games is entering a new era. For the first time in history, Solitaire will take center stage as a global competitive event with the launch of the World Solitaire Championship (WSC), set to take place in Miami, Florida, in February 2026.
The championship is organized by Papaya, a global leader in skill-based mobile entertainment and the company behind the hit game Solitaire Cash, available through its platform at papaya.com. Known for transforming traditional single-player games into competitive, real-money tournaments, Papaya is bringing Solitaire to a live, world-stage competition with $300,000 in total prizes, including $150,000 awarded to the first-ever World Solitaire Champion.

Elevating Solitaire From Solo Play to Global Competition
For decades, Solitaire has been a cultural staple—played in living rooms, office cubicles, and on countless computers and mobile devices worldwide. Papaya has modernized the classic card game by introducing skill-based matchmaking that pairs players of similar ability, ensuring fair, competitive, and engaging gameplay.
With more than 37 million downloads worldwide and hundreds of millions of daily competitions across titles such as Solitaire Cash, Bingo Cash, and Bubble Cash, Papaya has built one of the world’s most active skill-based gaming communities. The World Solitaire Championship represents the company’s most ambitious evolution yet, turning a traditionally solo experience into a shared, social, and highly competitive global event.
Miami Hosts the First World Solitaire Championship
The World Solitaire Championship will be held at Temple House Miami, South Beach’s premier event venue. Produced by Estars Studios and Executive Producer David Lee, the event will bring together elite Solitaire players from around the world for a weekend dedicated to competition, community, and celebration.

A total of 400 finalists will be flown to Miami for an all-expenses-paid experience, including five-star accommodations at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, exclusive entertainment, and live tournament play. Players will compete for global recognition, substantial prize money, and the historic title of World Solitaire Champion.
Building Community Through Play
What sets the World Solitaire Championship apart is its emphasis on connection. Papaya’s platform is built around the belief that play can be both competitive and social—bringing people together through shared challenges and achievements. By translating the digital tournament experience into a live global event, the championship demonstrates how modern mobile gaming can create real-world community.
“We believe play has the power to create meaningful connections that go far beyond the screen,” said Oriel Bachar, Co-Founder and CEO of Papaya. “Our vision is to bring people together through competition, community, and shared experiences—and the World Solitaire Championship is another step in making that vision a reality.”

More Than a Tournament
The World Solitaire Championship is designed to be more than a competition. It is a celebration of a timeless game, the players who love it, and the future of skill-based mobile entertainment. From live gameplay to exclusive events, the Miami championship weekend will reflect Papaya’s mission to turn everyday play into moments of joy, competition, and shared experience.
