Fernanda Abreu to Perform at Miami Beach Bandshell
Brazilian pop icon Fernanda Abreu brings her dance show “Amor Geral” to the Miami Beach Bandshell on Saturday, August 31. Abreu began her career in the 1980s with the legendary band Blitz, becoming a huge sensation and selling out stadiums throughout Brazil. Blitz also performed a historic show at the first edition of Rock in Rio in 1985. Abreu left the band and embarked on a successful solo career, releasing classic albums such as Da Lata (1995), Entidade Urbana (2000), and Na Paz (2004).
Always innovative, curious, eclectic and demanding in her productions, Fernanda Abreu is considered the mother of modern Brazilian pop and dance music, full of grooves, samba and funk carioca. Her acclaimed album Amor Geral (2016) gave rise to this new show that highlights all of her greatest hits such as "Rio 40 Graus,” “Kátia Flávia, a Godiva do Irajá,” “Garota Carioca,” “Tambor,” “Deliciosamente,” and
many more.
This concert is presented by the 28th Inffinito Brazilian Film Festival of Miami and Brazilian Nites.
