As part of its ongoing commitment to increasing diversity in design, DWR is partnering with more designers of color and creating opportunities for BIPOC designers and artisans around the world.
The student-made Crafting Diversity Collection (p. 29), designed in partnership between Stephen Burks and Berea College, the first integrated, coeducational college in the South, whose free-tuition programs preserve Appalachian craft while celebrating diversity. As part of the program, DWR is also partnering with the school to offer student internships.
The Iklwa Collection by Mac Collins, a dynamic young British designer drawing on his African-Caribbean heritage to create original furniture for Benchmark, exclusively at DWR.
The collection also features an exclusive collaboration with Los Angeles-based studio Block Shop Textiles, which includes handmade pillows, rugs, and prints using a zero-waste production process in Jaipur, India, where Block Shop promotes fair wages and work opportunities for women and invests 5% of profits to provide community healthcare.
