South Florida’s fall season is in full bloom as Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden welcomes back its popular Orchids in October event on Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This annual celebration transforms Fairchild’s 83-acre botanical paradise into a colorful showcase of orchids, artistry, and conservation.

Now a signature event for the Miami community, Orchids in October brings together plant enthusiasts, conservationists, and families for a weekend surrounded by nature’s beauty. Guests can explore hundreds of orchid varieties, meet growers, and shop from local plant and artisan vendors, including the Million Orchid Project, Orchid Society of Coral Gables, Kreative Gardens, and Bamboo & Orchids.

In addition to the vibrant marketplace, visitors can engage with horticulturists and researchers who will share insights on orchid propagation and ongoing conservation efforts. These initiatives have successfully reintroduced more than 500,000 native orchids throughout South Florida, reinforcing Fairchild’s leadership in urban conservation.

Families can enjoy an immersive day in nature—wandering through Wings of the Tropics, Fairchild’s live butterfly exhibit, exploring The Children’s Garden, or cooling off in the misty cloud forest, home to the only tropical rainforest in the continental U.S.
