Faena Art Marks 10 Years with Es Devlin’s “Library of Us” on Faena Beach

Faena Art is celebrating its tenth anniversary in Miami Beach with a landmark commission by British artist Es Devlin: Library of Us, a 50-foot revolving illuminated library installed on Faena Beach. Featuring 2,500 books that have influenced the artist, the kinetic sculpture rotates within a circular reflecting pool and is surrounded by a 70-foot-wide collective reading table.

The installation is free and open to the public from December 2–7, 1 p.m. to 9 p.m., and is part of a broader series including a Reading Room in the Faena Cathedral and smaller works in the Faena Project Room. At the end of Miami Art Week, all books will be donated to local libraries and schools.

Devlin’s work invites visitors to engage with text, sound, and movement, creating a temporary society of readers around shared experiences. The installation is part of Faena Art’s ongoing mission to connect art, community, and public spaces.
