Exploring Lake Como in Spring: Passalacqua Reopens With New Experiences

For Miami travelers looking beyond the usual spring destinations, Lake Como offers a different kind of escape—one defined by stillness, natural beauty, and history.  And for a luxury stay, consider one of Lake Como’s most storied properties, Passalacqua, reopened for the season on March 14, 2025.

This year, the hotel has introduced a new Chris-Craft boat to its private fleet, giving guests another way to explore the lake. Whether cruising past historic towns, catching a glimpse of celebrity hideaways, or enjoying a quiet moment on the water, boating remains one of the best ways to experience the region.

Beyond the lake, Passalacqua continues to add to its guest experience. Its Seed to Skin spa, opened last year, is tucked beneath the villa and connects through a series of hidden underground passages. An 18-meter heated indoor pool offers a view of the lake, making it a peaceful spot no matter the weather.

For those interested in design, Sense of Lake, the hotel’s boutique, has partnered with CDLP to release a capsule collection curated by Robert Rabensteiner. The collection features simple, well-made essentials like t-shirts, swimwear, and nightwear—pieces inspired by the understated elegance of Passalacqua and the lake itself.

Spring also brings Easter celebrations rooted in local tradition. Guests can take part in Easter egg painting, a flower-picking and bouquet-making workshop, and a class on baking Colomba Pasquale, an Italian Easter cake. Easter Sunday is marked with a lunch by Chef Viviana Varese, while Easter Monday, or Pasquetta, follows with an outdoor barbecue in the gardens, a nod to the Italian tradition of celebrating the holiday outdoors with family and friends.
