Harry Clarke was commissioned in 1926 to create a window as a gift to the League of Nations in Geneva. Genoa—home to The Wolfsoniana, The Wolfsonian's sister institution in Italy—is an ancient port city with a distinct character. Known as "La Superba" (the superb), Genoa and its Riviera have long drawn artists and writers from around the world. Through paintings, travel posters, postcards, books, and decorative arts from our collection, this installation provides a picture of Genoa as a mercantile and financial center in the first half of the 20th century.

A video installation by contemporary artist Marco Brambilla, Marco Brambilla: After Utopia explores how we grapple with ideas about the future. Brambilla uses artificial intelligence (AI) and computer graphics (CG) to construct virtual landscapes inspired by world's fairs, combining and animating images of iconic structures from 19th-, 20th-, and 21st-century expositions.
